The joint-stock company Ukrainian Defense Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the leading company in the development and production of missile systems – MBDA Deutschland, the press service of JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry reported.

"The document provides for a joint study of programs or opportunities for cooperation on air defense systems and concepts, in particular to counter UAVs. Potential areas of partnership are research, development, production, investment and the like," the Ukrainian company said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

"Cooperation with the world's leading arms companies not only expands Ukraine's existing capabilities on the battlefield, but also lays a solid foundation for the further development of our defense industry and contributes to its integration into the NATO defense industry," said Herman Smetanin, General Director of JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry.

In turn, MBDA Deutschland Managing Director Thomas Gottschild said: "This agreement is an important milestone in the relationship between the defense industries of our countries. I look forward to cooperation with Ukrainian Defense Industry, a leading player in the European defense industry."

MBDA Deutschland develops and produces missile and air defense systems that meet the current and future needs of troops.
