Ukroboronprom saves UAH 130 mln from e-trading procurements

State-run Ukroboronprom Concern has managed to save UAH 130 million from the use of e-trading platforms for state procurements by its enterprises, according to Ukroboronprom Deputy Director General Serhiy Penkas.

"As of today, savings have been estimated at UAH 130 million, which, if taken proportionally to the number of concluded contracts, is 20%," he said at a conference on reforming the state procurement sector in Ukraine.

In his words, Ukroboronprom's 60 enterprises held 5,700 tenders on e-trading platforms, which resulted in contracts being concluded worth UAH 500 million. The number of bidders ready to supply their produce to Ukroboronprom's companies is growing by 400-500 every month.

According to him, if the top management of bidders' used to cite their exclusive suppliers as an advantage in bidding and a reduction in prices wasn't possible, even by 5%, things have now changed, citing the example one armored tank manufacturer: after state procurements were switched over to e-trading, one such exclusive supplier reduced their price by 40%, yet didn't manage to win a tender.
