Jysk Ukraine denies accusations it violated Ukrainian customs rules

Jysk Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), which develops the Jysk network of Jysk Group (Denmark) in Ukraine, has denied accusations that it used illegal import schemes which led to the non-payment of import duties to the state, which have recently appeared in some media reports.

"The information is untrue and it was fabricated by the author," reads a company report issued on Thursday.

Jysk Ukraine said that compared to the list mentioned by the author "from threads-needles to household appliances the range of goods sold by the company does not include household appliances. One can visit the official website of the company or any Jysk store in Ukraine to receive evidence of this."

"The author also accuses Jysk Ukraine of declaring the non-full list of goods and replacement of goods by other ones. The statement is absurd, as goods are supplied only from EU countries. Exports declarations registered in the EU are submitted for customs clearance in Ukraine. Quality control is carried out both by EU and Ukrainian customs agencies," the company said.

Several companies which deliver goods for Jysk Ukraine have authorized economic operator status in the EU. The company said that such status is evidence of the high trust EU customs agencies have in those carriers and their freight.

The company said that imported batches of goods were examined at the border several times and no discrepancy in the range of goods and the number of goods declared was recorded.

"The calculation of the unpaid customs duties presented by the author arouses special perplex [sic] – due to the alleged "reduction of the customs value of goods imported by Jysk Ukraine."

All documents on the price of goods, the selling price and taxes paid are available to customs and tax agencies. The accruing of taxes could be easily checked.

The company said that their reports are audited by the Big Four companies every year.

Jysk Ukraine has been developing the Jysk network in Ukraine since 2004.
