Ukrainian strongman Posudevsky sets new record of Ukraine

Viktor Posudevsky, a Ukrainian sportsman, member of the Strongmen Federation of Ukraine, has set a new record for the country by dragging a 21.5 tonnes gas-carrying vehicle at 19.5 meters for 51.98 seconds, president of the Strongmen Federation of Ukraine, Serhiy Koniushok, said.

"This is really a record in the category of 95 kg. Viktor's weight is 92 kg. In April, he already became the champion of Ukraine in several categories, and yesterday's record is worthy of the season-2017," Koniushok said a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Monday.

The president of the Strongmen Federation also thanked the BRSM-Nafta filling station chain for the financial support.

Director of the BRSM-Nafta Strategic Marketing Department Oleksandr Melnychuk said that business gets involved in the sphere of sports, "in order to develop a healthy lifestyle, so that our children could have an example to follow."

Record holder Posudevsky said that he had been preparing to set this record since March this year. "This vehicle was taken off the route several times, and I tried to have a go at the BRSM base. I was the first who moved such a gasoline tanker with such weight. None in the world managed to do it," he said.

"Next year, it is planned to drag either two gas carriers for the same distance, or increase the weight of one vehicle by 10 tonnes," Posudevsky said.
