FFU reminds Ukrainian clubs of financial fair play

First Vice-President of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) Serhiy Storozhenko has reminded representatives of clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League of the need to meet the criteria of UEFA's financial fair play, the FFU's press service has reported.

On Friday, March 15, he had a meeting with financial employees of clubs of the Premier League and the First League. The meeting was attended by financial employees from 16 clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League and a representative of the First League's FC Sevastopol.

In his opening speech, Storozhenko again reminded representatives of clubs of transparency in financial matters and the criteria of financial fair play, and proposed focusing on official sources of information - UEFA and FFU, rather than the views of certain individuals.

Storozhenko recalled that the 2012/2013 season would be the starting platform for UEFA to monitor football clubs regarding their compliance with financial fair play.

"FFU is not a police organization. We are your friends and your agent who wants to help you. But we also want you to understand your responsibility and the legal consequences of an unfair attitude to the procedure of financial fair play. The main thing for every club is a wise attitude to its own economy, transparency in operations and break-even," he said.
