KYIV. Jan 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of newly-built apartment buildings in Kyiv grew by 27% in 2017 from 2016, reaching 197 projects at the end of the year, Head of the consulting department at NAI Ukraine Maryna Hurevych said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

"As for commissioning in Kyiv's suburbs Irpen is the leader. The largest number of projects in Kyiv was commissioned in Holosiyivsky district," she said, adding that supply on the secondary market retained.

The company projects a slight rise in prices on the primary housing market in 2018 and a slight fall on the secondary market.

According to a report of NAI Ukraine, in 2017, the largest supply on the housing market is in the one-room apartment segment. A trend of growth in the number of two-room apartments with reduction of their space was seen. The share of economy class housing slightly fell, although the segment is still the leader on the market.

"As for the square meters, the comfort class increased its share. This means that more developers pay attention to the non-price factors – infrastructure, apartment layout options and general organization of housing," Hurevych said.

NAI Ukraine was founded in 2016. It is a representative office of NAI Global.
