Ukraine first to take part in EuroDIG & SEEDIG 2015

KYIV. April 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will first take part in the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) and SEEDIG (South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance) to be held in Sofia (Bulgaria) on June 3 through June 5, 2015.

"The Council of Europe pays much attention to the issues of internet governance, the principles of forming dialogue on internet governance. Ukraine as a member of the Council of Europe is to introduce the principles of the Council of Europe, as Internet is a very important thing in the life of society," President of the European Media Platform International NGO (former co-rapporteur of PACE Monitoring Committee for Ukraine) Hanne Severinsen said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

She said that the event is needed to show new Ukraine with its new opportunities to the whole world.

Director of the European Media Platform International NGO Oksana Prykhodko said that this is the seventh EuroDIG event.

"This year first SEEDIG will be held and it is very important for us that Ukraine brings its own ideas to the European platform for the discussion by European society. Unfortunately, European society does not know problems Ukraine faces today well," she said.

A representative of the Innovation Development Center of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University Diana Protsenko said that today there is a trend of growing demand on effective models and scheme of agreeing collective decisions.
