Kyiv, November 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) has become an honorary member of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), UVCA Managing Director Jaanika Merilo has said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

According to her, this status provides the UVCA members with the opportunity of communication with European investors, who in the future might begin to invest in Ukraine.

"Thus, the UVCA becomes an investment window to Ukraine for the members of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. The UVCA also gets access to a wider range of the market information of the EVCA, the best practices of European investment funds and the right to participate in all conferences of the EVCA," the expert said.

The EVCA, in turn, believes that the creation of a national association of international investors in Ukraine shows the development of the investment environment.

The UVCA was founded in August 2014. The initiators of creating the association were Andriy Kolodiuk and Jaanika Merilo. At present the members of the association are 1,200 investment companies, institutional investors and market participants, including Horizon Capital, KM Core, AVentures, Intel Capital, SCM, Vostok Ventures, Capital Times, the Warsaw Stock Exchange and other international investors. In addition, the partners of the association are the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
