Kyiv, October 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Naftogaz Ukrainy is ignoring the letter of Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan on gas supplies to Kyiv combined heat power plant (CHPP)-6 to provide hot water to the residential areas of Troyeschyna, Lisova, Obolon and Podil, as well as the participation of the station in electricity supplies in Kyiv, director of the Kyivski Teplovi Merezhi (Kyiv Thermal Networks) subdivision of PJSC Kyivenergo Yevhen Hlushak has said.

"The letter to Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan to Naftogaz emphasizes that to ensure the reliability of the power system in Kyiv it is necessary to ensure the work of at least one power unit at Kyiv CHPP. Due to this, the operation of the separate order of the Energy Ministry dated July 9, 2014 (on the limitation of gas supplies to CHPPs) was terminated with regard to the CHPP of PJSC Kyivenergo," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

Thus, according to Hlushak, all restrictions for supplying gas to CHPP-6 of Kyivenergo were lifted.

"Despite this letter, despite the requirements of the controller of Ukrenergo (as the operation of the power unit is connected with the power supply of the city), Naftogaz refused to deliver gas to CHPP-6. There are no explanations or comments from Naftogaz on the issue," he concluded.

As reported, today almost 29% of Kyivenergo consumers are without hot water.
