40% of Ukrainians support talks with separatist protesters - poll
Kyiv, May 7 (Interfax) - Forty percent of Ukrainians stand for negotiations with the separatist protesters and 35% support the military crackdown, according to a poll conducted by the Rating sociological group and presented at a Wednesday press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
Pro-talks respondents propose partial satisfaction of the protesters' demands but say the region must remain a part of Ukraine.
Fifteen percent think the local population should be allowed to decide on the region's future, 8% are hesitant and 2% made other suggestions.
Some 2,000 respondents were polled on April 25-30, the error keeps within 2.2%.
