There is a chance to avoid power outages with schedules, the possibility of which is predicted for Wednesday evening, provided that the resource is consumed reasonably, especially from 19:00 to 22:00, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Board Chairman of NPC Ukrenergo, has said.

"Tonight, if consumption increases, we will have to resort to disconnecting consumers as a last resort to balance the energy system. We must be prepared for this, but this can be avoided by consuming electricity sparingly, especially during peak consumption hours. This is from approximately 19:00 until 22:00," the Ukrenergo press service quotes its head with reference to the Radio Liberty broadcast on Wednesday morning.

He explained that as a result of the missile attack by the Russian army, there is a significant shortage of electricity in the energy system. Now it is possible to close it thanks to the import of electricity and emergency assistance from Europe.

As the press service of Ukrenergo explained, if it is necessary to apply outage schedules, the company will additionally report their types later, and details regarding the duration and order of shutdowns will then be provided by each regional power company in its region. They recalled that first they introduce power limitation schedules, and if this is not enough to balance the energy system, then emergency shutdown schedules.
