Defense Cooperation Agreement with the Netherlands cements support for Ukraine's cultural heritage – Zhovkva

An agreement on security cooperation with the Netherlands for the first time secured support for the cultural heritage of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva said on Facebook on Friday.

"For the first time, a security agreement secured support for the cultural heritage of Ukraine, in particular within the implementation of the 1954 UNESCO Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict," he said.

Zhovkva also drew attention to "a powerful military bloc with direct reference, in particular, to the provision of long-range fire weapons to Ukraine and the provision of F-16s (the Netherlands, by the way, co-chairs the corresponding Fighter Coalition)."

The block of support for the defense industry of Ukraine provides for attracting Dutch investments in the development of the Ukrainian defense industry, in particular in the production of UAVs.

"We have secured the most powerful blocks on sanctions, compensation for damage and bringing the aggressor to justice. In particular, the agreement consolidates the Netherlands' proposal to locate a future special tribunal for the crime of aggression in The Hague. In general, the section 'Russia's responsibility' in this agreement is the best and strongest of all agreements," he said.
