Defense Ministry conducts two more inspections of weapons transferred by USA

Representatives of the Internal Audit Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and American inspectors conducted two more joint inspections of weapons transferred by American partners.

"They checked the key parameters directly at the weapon storage sites: compliance with serial numbers, technical condition, conditions for proper storage of weapons (safety and security)," the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of 2024, three command inspections have already been carried out – according to the Plan of joint physical inspections agreed upon by the parties earlier. There were no comments from the American side during the monitoring, the ministry stressed.

"We want every step in handling the provided weapons to be transparent and understandable. This means that the Ministry of Defense monitors how weapons are accounted for, stored and used, and the conclusions of joint inspections are carefully worked out. In addition, the results and experience gained during the joint inspection are already being used to develop Instructions that will regulate the attraction, receipt, accounting and use of international military assistance for the Defense Forces from all foreign partners," said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhyhyr.
