President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday, at a meeting with foreign diplomats, representatives of states and international organizations, set tasks for 2024 with the aim of ending the war as soon as possible in accordance with international law.

"2024 year is special because it is in this year that we must do more in terms of our ability to end this war in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law. Accordingly, we have several absolutely specific tasks for this year," the President said.

In particular, Zelenskyy called the protection of the Ukrainian people from Russian terror an absolute priority.

"We cannot allow Putin to succeed in replacing international law with the rules of terror. Therefore, we are very grateful to every state and every leader who provides Ukraine and our people with defense, macro-financial and humanitarian support. All this saves thousands of lives and brings the end of the war closer," he said.

The Head of state also noted that Ukraine seeks to unite the international community for the sake of implementing the Peace Formula, since "it is capable of bringing peace - real, honest, understandable to every nation and returning children and adults forcibly deported by Russia to Ukraine."

In addition, Zelenskyy called on the states and companies of the world to cooperate on defense.

"Modern Russia not only does not disrespect someone in the world, but does not respect all the principles that regulate life in the world. Anyone can become a target for the Russian Federation. We must honestly admit that when someone ignores all the rules and principles, this someone is a global threat … We must strengthen our arsenals and adapt them to the conditions of modern challenges and modern warfare," the President said.

The President of Ukraine also called for joint work on blocking the circumvention of sanctions for the Russian Federation and the speedy confiscation of frozen Russian assets.
