Polish authorities intend to introduce special regime at BCPs, roads approaching border with Ukraine

Warsaw intends to take special control over sections of roads approaching border crossing points (BCPs) on the border with Ukraine, Prime Minster of Poland Donald Tusk said.

"We will include the BCP on the border with Ukraine and adjacent sections of highways and railways in the list of critical infrastructure," Polish Radio quotes Tusk as saying.

According to him, "it is a matter of the next few hours."

The Prime Minister also said that the Polish side will continue negotiations with both Ukraine and the EU in order to convey its point of view to them. In particular, according to him, a joint meeting of the governments of Poland and Ukraine will be held on March 28 in Warsaw.

At the same time, Tusk added that there is no need for his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to resolve the situation on the border.

The President of Ukraine on Wednesday publicly appealed to the President of Poland with a call to hold a meeting of the two governments on the Ukrainian-Polish border to resolve problems with its crossing. Zelenskyy announced the participation of the Ukrainian Defense Minister in the negotiations, as strikes at the border are delaying military cargo.
