Twenty-two Russian servicemen convicted in Ukraine - head of National Police Main Investigation Dept

The National Police of Ukraine notified almost 2,500 occupiers of suspicion, 22 Russian servicemen were convicted of shelling humanitarian and evacuation convoys, rape, and other war crimes, said Maksym Tsutskiridze, First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

"We recognize that the military aggressor is strong, and most of the war criminals are either in the occupied territory of Ukraine or in the Russian Federation. But still, we solve crimes and today we already have 2,400 suspicions," said Head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

According to him, in the vast majority of cases it’s about in absentia procedure of bringing to justice. ""At the same time, we have personal suspicions. Twenty-two Russian servicemen have been convicted," Tsutskiridze said.

He added that Andrei Medvedev and Nikolai Kartashov are among media-famous occupiers imprisoned in jail in Ukraine. Judicial investigation is being conducted against them.
