NBU head: Kolobov's appointment as finance minister a loss for NBU and a gain for Finance Ministry

Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Serhiy Arbuzov has said that Yuriy Kolobov's appointment as finance minister will be a gain for the government as a whole.

"Kolobov's appointment is a loss for the NBU and a gain for the Finance Ministry. I believe that everything will be fine. We will work even more fruitfully than we did earlier," he told reporters before a government meeting on Wednesday.

As reported, on February 28, 2012, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych appointed Kolobov as Ukraine's finance minister.

In April 2010, Kolobov was appointed the deputy head of the National Bank of Ukraine, and in November 2010, he became the first deputy head of the NBU. Earlier, he worked at Ukreximbank and served as the CEO of BTA Bank, the director of the treasury at Oschadbank, and an adviser on banking matters at KIBR Financial Company.
