Duda on anniversary of Euromaidan: Poland unwaveringly to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainians, support them in fight against aggressor

On the tenth anniversary of the start of Euromaidan and the Revolution of Dignity, Polish President Andrzej Duda assured that Poland will help Ukraine on its way to the EU and NATO, because it wants to see Ukrainians "in the European family as soon as possible."

In a video address on the occasion of the anniversary of Euromaidan published on X (Twitter), Duda said that since the beginning of mass protests on the Maidan, the Poles have supported the Ukrainian desire to deepen integration with Europe.

"It still is today. Poland was the first country to call for Ukraine to be granted EU candidate status immediately after the Russian aggression started. A few days ago, the European Commission recommended opening accession negotiations. This is a great success, for which I congratulate you, but it is also a great challenge. I want to assure you that Poland will unwaveringly stand shoulder to shoulder with you and support you in the fight against the aggressor," he said.

The President said that no one understands better than the Poles what a huge price one has to pay for freedom and independence. According to Duda, Poland will help Ukraine on its way to the EU and NATO, because it wants to see "in our European family as soon as possible."

"A free and independent Ukraine, as well as good and mutually respectful partnerships between our peoples, are of fundamental importance to me and my compatriots. I believe that we will continue to develop them in this spirit," he said.
