Zelenskyy signs law on redirection of 'military' personal income tax from local budgets to state one

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on the redirection of the so-called "military" personal income tax from local budgets to the state in order to direct these funds primarily to the purchase of drones and weapons.

As noted in the card of corresponding bill No. 10037, posted on the Verkhovna Rada website, the document was returned to parliament with the signature of the head of state on November 17.

As reported, on November 8, the Verkhovna Rada, by 253 votes, adopted a law on the redirection of the so-called "military" personal income tax from local budgets to the state budget in order to direct these funds primarily to the purchase of drones and weapons (bill No. 10037). Later, MPs submitted six draft resolutions to parliament blocking the signing of this law. At a planning meeting on November 10, they were rejected.

The key provisions of the bill are that the revenues of the Road Fund in 2024 are directed to the state budget general fund and are allocated for defense needs. At the same time, "military" personal income tax from October 1, 2023 to December 31 of the year in which martial law ends is counted in the state budget.
