Ministries instructed to develop plan to implement reforms envisaged in European Commission report – Stefanishyna

The ministries of Ukraine have been instructed to develop a plan for implementing the reforms provided for in the report of the European Commission, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna has said.

"Based on the results of processing the European Commission's report on Ukraine, each ministry shall prepare a plan for implementing recommendations for reforms in its area," the deputy prime minister's press service said following a meeting between her and deputy ministers on European integration.

According to her, as part of self-screening, which lasted more than six months, the authorities analyzed more than 28,000 legal acts. Based on the materials for each section, a report was prepared that identified priority acts that should be implemented into Ukrainian legislation.

"Today, there are about 3,000 such acts. We are now translating the report into English and will soon be able to officially submit it to the European Commission. We expect that this report will become an important auxiliary tool during the official EU screening process," the press service quoted Director of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Oleksandr Ilkov.

At the meeting, Stefanishyna instructed the deputy ministers to prepare an action plan for a list of reforms for their implementation in pursuance of the European Commission report.
