DTEK supplies almost one fifth of contracted coal from Poland to Ukraine

The DTEK Energy company imported 40,000 tonnes of coal from Poland for the heating season out of 210,000 tonnes planned for delivery, its CEO Ildar Saleev has said.

"Since the end of September, 625 additional cars with coal have already been delivered to our thermal power plants. And this is neither more nor less – more than 38,000 tonnes of coal for Ukrainian thermal power plants in winter," he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, the company is doing everything to provide the thermal power plant with the necessary fuel.

At the same time, Saleev said that Ukrainian coal is priority No. 1 for the company, but in addition, it imports coal from abroad so that "in conditions of enemy shelling, we will be ready to insure our colleagues if necessary."

As reported, investments of the DTEK energy holding in coal mining by the end of the year are planned at the level of UAH 7.4 billion, which is almost twice as high as last year – UAH 3.8 billion, DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko said in mid-October.
