The Ministry of Digital Transformation, as part of the reform of the State Statistics Service, together with the IT company EPAM, created the Sigma statistical system, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has announced on his Telegram channel.

"We have reformed the State Statistics Service and continue to work on digital transformation so that high-quality data is available to everyone in Ukraine. Together with EPAM, we created a unique statistical system, Sigma. It will help replace flash drives and emails with dashboards and interactive tables," Fedorov wrote.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is busy searching for developers who will work in the system and develop it. Opening positions: BI analyst, data analyst, Azure DevOps, ETL architect, Microsoft 365 engineer, data product tester.

In April, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that by mid-year it would launch an updated statistics portal instead of the current State Statistics Service website, created as part of the global digital transformation of the State Statistics Service. It was reported that the transformation is based on an IT platform that collects and processes data in real time, presenting it in the form of interactive dashboards. In June, closed testing of the new portal was launched.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation has been carrying out transformations in the State Statistics Service since 2021 as part of the implementation of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP program, implemented by the East Europe Foundation.

The audit of business processes and IT infrastructure of the State Statistics Service was carried out in collaboration with the IT company EPAM. It also participated in the development of the digital transformation strategy, Fedorov wrote.

According to Forbres.UA, the total cost of the project is about UAH 55 million, which was allocated under the EGAP program. The publication also reports that after the implementation of the reforms, the State Statistics Service staff will be reduced by approximately 30%. In 2022, the state agency's staff was reduced from 6,000 employees to 4,600, including by eliminating duplicative functions in regional divisions.
