At a meeting in the Ramstein-16 format in Brussels, Ukraine put forward an initiative to create a "coalition for the defense industry development" within the "capability coalitions," Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said.

"There was an important meeting of Ramstein. We have several 'capability coalitions' that are already demonstrating results. With each Ramstein, an increasing number of countries join and contribute to each of the coalitions. We have several coalitions, but they are expanding. Tank Coalition, CV-90 Coalition, IT Coalition, Mine Action Coalition, F-16 Coalition and Future Force Coalition. Ukraine has taken the initiative to create, within the coalition, the Defense Industry Development Coalition," Umerov said during a conversation with reporters in Brussels.

As the minister emphasized, Ukraine's priority this and next year is to attract international defense companies and corporations to open production facilities in Ukraine.

"This is a matter of our national security - providing weapons to the Defense Forces, developing technology, economic security," Umerov noted.

According to him, as a result of the meeting, "almost half a billion dollars were received in assistance, mainly air defense, ammunition, winter preparation and F-16."
