Two more ships heading to ports of Big Odesa outside grain corridor

Another bulk carrier has entered the ports of Big Odesa along a temporary corridor established by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, another one is on the way in addition to the previously announced five, Head of the Monitoring Group of Sanctions and Freedom of Navigation of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies Andriy Klymenko said on Facebook.

According to him, on October 3, two new vessels MARANTA (shipowner from Poland) and EQUATOR (shipowner from Greece) arrived at the ports of Big Odesa to load Ukrainian cargo.

According to MarineTraffic, MARANTA arrived at the port of Odesa on October 3 under the flag of Cameroon. The vessel's carrying capacity is 5,080 tonnes of deadweight, its draft is 4.6 meters, length is 100 meters, and width is 18 meters.

At the same time, the vessel EQUATOR with a number that matches that indicated in Klymenko's post (IMO: 9363766) is going from the port of Mostaganem in North Africa to the port of Chornomorsk, according to MarineTraffic data. The ship is flying the flag of the Marshall Islands. Its carrying capacity is 18,960 tonnes of deadweight, its draft is 4.9 meters, its length is 139.92 meters, and width 25 meters.

"Thus, in our database there are already 12 ships [outside the grain corridor]. If we also take into account the ships blocked at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, which have already left the Odesa ports in August-September along the new route, then we already have 17," Klymenko wrote.
