Russia’s sole “achievement” in the war was the destruction of Bakhmut, ex-CIA Director

Confronting russia’s military aggression, the Ukrainian people demonstrated an incredible ability to mobilize and resist the enemy, and this effort is admired throughout the world.

This idea was stressed by General David Petraeus, a member of the KSF Security Council, Commander of the US Central Command in 2008-10, CIA Director in 2011-12, during a special event of the Kyiv Security Forum, established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“The whole world watches your country and admires you. The way Ukrainians mobilized as a people is unparalleled. I admire the patriotism and endurance of the Ukrainian people,” the General emphasized.

He also stressed that the whole word watched in awe the Ukrainian Armed Forces when they won the battle for Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and recaptured Kherson.

“The only achievement of the russian troops during their winter offensive was the destruction of the city of Bakhmut and its assault at the price of 25 thousand soldiers’ lives lost,” said David Petraeus.

The former CIA Director also emphasized that he was proud to be a member of the KSF Security Council: “We talk a lot about Ukraine’s ingenuity, and its ability to adapt. And the very location serving the venue for today’s event proves it once again. What other country can adapt a parking lot for an event of this level? This is yet another confirmation of the fact that the Ukrainians are very resourceful,” he said.

The Kyiv Security Forum, established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “Open Ukraine” Foundation, is the main platform in this country for discussing issues of war and peace, national and global security.
