Ukrzaliznytsia increases number of trips by one third, passengers transportation by 70% in July y-o-y
JSC Ukrzaliznytsia in July 2023 increased the number of trips by a third and passengers transportation by almost 70% compared to July 2022, the company's press service reported on Facebook.
"In July last year, 1.482 million passengers used the railway, and in July this year – already 2.513 million... At the same time, the number of trips performed over the past month has significantly increased - 2,613 versus 1,998 in July last year," the company reported.
As the press service said, in this way, compared to 2022, in July 2023, 31% more trips were performed and almost 70% more passengers were transported than in July 2022.
According to it, the number of trips grew by 29% in domestic traffic over the specified period, and by 43% in international traffic.
In addition, the occupancy rate (average occupancy) of long-distance trains was 97%, which means that most Ukrzaliznytsia's trip were fully loaded.
