SBU seizes assets of sanctioned oligarch Novinsky for over UAH 10.5 billion

Based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine, the court seized new assets of the pro-Russian oligarch Vadim Novinsky, who is involved in abetting the aggressor state, with a total value of more than UAH 10.5 billion.

"The list of blocked assets includes 230 real estate objects that Novinsky owns through an offshore trust fund. Among the seized property is an elite hotel complex in the center of Kyiv, the Ochakiv maritime merchandise port, premises of an agricultural holding, and shopping centers in different regions of Ukraine," the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine said on its Telegram channel.

It was established that to avoid sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council, Novinsky re-registered his own assets to several controlled foreign citizens in offshore jurisdictions. To implement the deal, he brought in affiliated private notaries and public registrars.

The Security Service of Ukraine officers exposed the criminal scheme and blocked it.

In April 2023, according to the Security Service's materials, Novinsky's property valued at over UAH 3.5 billion was seized.

As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the investigators of the Security Service under Article 111-2 (abetting the aggressor state), an investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring those responsible to justice.

Comprehensive measures are carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General and in cooperation with the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).
