After a year of full-scale Russian aggression, the number of enemy cyberattacks on Ukraine's state resources, military and critical infrastructure facilities has increased six times, but the country is successfully resisting on this front as well, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Maliuk says.

In an interview with The Independent published on Monday, he said that in the face of military aggression, the SBU is fighting on many fronts, in particular on the battlefield and in cyberspace.

According to Maliuk, after Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the number of cyberattacks by Russia doubled, and before the anniversary of military aggression, it increased by six times.

"These are different types of attacks. Sometimes they are really massive, sometimes they are quite subtle," the SBU head said.

He stressed: "Currently, Russia carries out an average of more than 10 cyberattacks daily ... Their goals are different - state resources, critical infrastructure facilities, etc. But we successfully resist the enemy in cyberspace as well."

The SBU head also said that since the beginning of the war, the SBU has opened more than 64,000 criminal proceedings against Russian servicemen, half of them are war crimes. "It is important for us to show the world not just emotions, but procedural evidence of illegal actions," he said.

In addition, Maliuk said that during the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian intelligence service exposed 360 enemy agents.

At the same time, he expressed confidence that, despite enemy attacks on the battlefield and the digital front, Ukraine will win. "We are fighting not only for the future of Ukraine, but also for the safe existence of the entire civilized world," Maliuk summed up.
