On Sunday, at an extraordinary meeting convened on the initiative of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine fired Vasyl Lozynsky, Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure.

According to the Communications Department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, the government approved the order to dismiss Vasyl Lozynsky from the post of Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine in accordance with the first paragraph of the second part of Article 9 of the Law On central executive authorities.

The Government of Ukraine is guided by the principle of zero tolerance for corruption and continues to develop the anti-corruption infrastructure. In particular, the competition for the position of director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is expected to be completed as soon as possible, according to the statement.

Lozynsky was detained by law enforcement officers on Saturday, he was exposed as having received a $400,000 bribe for facilitating the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment and machinery. The issue of reporting suspicion to him is being resolved.
