Occupiers fire on Emergency Service's rescuers in Zaporizhia region: one killed, five wounded

In Zaporizhia region, Russian invaders fired at the rescuers of the State Emergency Service, who contained the fire that arose as a result of enemy shelling, one employee of the State Emergency Service was killed, five more were wounded, the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhia region said.

According to the service's information, on Friday in the village of Natalivka (Zaporizhia region), as a result of enemy shelling, a fire broke out, and rescuers of the State Emergency Service arrived to contain it. While extinguishing the fire, the occupiers repeatedly fired at the seat of the fire.

As a result of the explosion, an employee of the State Emergency Service, a senior fireman of the fourth state fire brigade Yevhen Donets, died.

Five more firefighters suffered, they received injuries of varying degrees of severity, and were hospitalized.

Later, secretary of Zaporizhia city council Anatoliy Kurtiev said the first shelling took place at about 08:00.

"Today, at about 08:00 in the morning, the Russians fired at the suburbs of Zaporizhia with high-powered missile systems. In order to remove the consequences of the strike, emergency rescue units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and doctors left. Freaks from Russia did not let them get there: they launched a second missile attack. Ambulance and fire trucks were damaged," Kurtiev said on Facebook.
