Kharkiv suffers over 50 enemy attacks in day, but holds line – Synehubov

Over the past day, Russian troops have carried out more than 50 strikes on Kharkiv, Head of the regional military administration Oleh Synehubov has said.

"Over the day, Russian troops launched more than 50 strikes on the districts of Kharkiv. At night, there was a missile attack on one of the city's squares. In general, from the beginning of active hostilities, the enemy used cluster, vacuum bombs, cruise missiles and Iskander," Synehubov in the Telegram channel.

At the same time, he said the city is holding its own.

"Kharkiv holds the defense. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will not retreat even a meter. In a day, the Russian occupiers suffered a shameful defeat near Kharkiv and Ruski Tyshky. Ukrainian fighters forced the enemy to retreat to their previous positions," Synehubov.

He said during the day the regional humanitarian headquarters distributed 17 wagons and two trucks of food, clothing and medicines.

As for the situation with the evacuation of people from Izium, according to Synehubov, efforts are being made to carry it out on March 17.

"We are counting on the opening of a 'green corridor' from Izium. The city is destroyed, the only way out is the evacuation of people. Today, Russia did not agree on the" corridor. "We are doing everything to carry out the evacuation tomorrow," Synehubov said.
