Ukraine records over 3,200 new cases of COVID-19, 53 deaths in past 24 hours - health minister

Ukraine has recorded 3,206 new cases of COVID-19 as of Monday morning, 1,353 patients earlier diagnosed with the infection have recovered and 53 died, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said.

"Ukraine recorded 3,206 new cases of COVID-19 as of February 22, 2021. In particular, 216 children and 78 healthcare workers have become sick. As many as 1,443 people have been hospitalized, 53 have died, and 1,353 have recovered over the past 24 hours," Stepanov wrote on Facebook on Monday.

Ukraine reported 4,489 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday; 6,295 on February 20; 6,531 on February 19; 6,237 on February 18; 4,286 on February 17; 3,143 on February 16; 2,332 on February 15; and 3,094 on February 14.

The aggregate number of Ukrainians diagnosed with the coronavirus infection over the period of the pandemic has reached 1,307,662, some 25,156 of these patients have died and 1,147,426 have recovered.

The highest numbers of new cases of coronavirus have been recorded over the past 24 hours in Ivano-Frankivsk region (515), Vinnytsia region (328), Zhytomyr region (285), Lviv region (279), and Chernivstsi region (259).
