Trudeau, Sentsov discuss defense of illegally detained persons
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reaffirmed support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity during a meeting with former political prisoner, Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov, and discussed with him the defense of illegally detained persons.
"As a political prisoner, Oleg Sentsov displayed remarkable strength & courage. On the Hill today, we spoke about his work fighting for the rights of the oppressed & wrongly imprisoned, and I reaffirmed Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty & territorial integrity," Trudeau wrote on his Facebook page in the early hours of Wednesday.
Sentsov, in turn, on his Facebook page, called Trudeau "one of the most devoted and strongest allies of Ukraine." Both posted a joint photo on their pages during a meeting in Canada on Tuesday.
