No one has been severely hurt in a road accident involving Moldovan President Igor Dodon's car on Sunday, the presidential press service reported.

Dodon is feeling normally, and he is already at home, it said.

Doctors of the first aid hospital said earlier that Dodon refused to be hospitalized, after the first aid has been provided to him. The president's mother and middle son were also brought to the hospital. They were also given aid and were sent home later. Several media reported that the president's mother had been hurt most of all. However, the press service declined these claims.

Medics said that an officer of the State Protection and Guard Service, who was in the car with his friend, was hospitalized with brain concussion. The presidential Mercedes and a Volkswagen-Tuareg off-road vehicle belonging to the State Protection and Guard Service have collided with a small truck in the car accident.

A truck driver, who has delivered chicken meat, lost control and got on the opposite lane, along which the presidential motorcade drove. The dash camera recording shows that the truck has provoked an accident involving the Moldovan president's car. The recording, which has already been posted online, was made from another car of the State Protection and Guard Service, which followed the presidential car.

Meanwhile, executive secretary of the pro-presidential Socialist Party Vlad Batrincea wrote on his Facebook page that he is convinced that the car accident has been premeditated.

"This is not an accident, but a direct blow to the car. It is an attempted murder!" Batrincea wrote in a commentary to the dash camera recording.

"It is still early to draw any conclusions," chief of the Moldovan general police directorate Alexandru Pinzari said. "The police have launched an investigation into all the circumstances of the car accident," Pinzari said.
