Leader of the public movement Ukrainian Choice - The Right of the People Viktor Medvedchuk has accepted the proposal of the head of the For Life Party, Vadym Rabinovych, to join this political force, Medvedchuk's press service has said.

"I accept Vadym Rabinovych's proposal and sincerely thank him and everyone who expressed my confidence, voted for my candidacy," Medvedchuk said in a statement published by his press service on its Facebook page.

Medvedchuk notes that he supports the program, goals and tasks of the party.

"Peace for Donbas, the restoration of relations with the Russian Federation and the CIS countries are the key tasks facing Ukraine and all of us. Yes, the tasks are not simple: we must learn to listen and hear all regions, we must learn to negotiate and seek compromise solutions," Medvedchuk is quoted as saying.

According to information on the website of For Life, a presentation of the party's program to lead the country out of the economic crisis was presented on NewsOne television on July 25. The main points of the program were stated by Rabinovych.

Viewers voted for politicians who could join the party. Among the candidates was Medvedchuk.

"I want to tell Viktor Volodymyrovych Medvedchuk: I think today is a very important day in your life. [...] Previously, instructions were given to you by the commander-in-chief, and now instructions on how to work on peace are given to you by the people of Ukraine. I invite you and I congratulate you. And I hope you will accept our invitation [to join] the For Life team," Rabinovych said after the vote, in which Medvedchuk received the most votes.

Medvedchuk is a member of the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine. Among other things, he works on the exchange of prisoners and detainees.
