Nayev, Hug discuss security situation along contact line in Donbas

Ukrainian Joint Forces Commander, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev and Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) Alexander Hug have discussed the security situation along the contact line in Donbas, in particular in the area of the village of Chyhari, the village of Pivdenne, Toretsk Town Council of Donetsk region, as well as the situation around critical civil infrastructure facilities, in particular, the Donetsk water filtration station.

According to the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO), the meeting was held on the evening of June 4.

Nayev demonstrated to OSCE SMM employees the recordings from CCTV cameras, which showed the use of heavy weapons by militants.

He also said that the units that carry out combat missions in the area of the Donetsk water filtration station strictly observe the ceasefire and never pose a threat to the life of the station's staff. He also submitted proposals to ensure the safety of station workers, which Hug took into account.

Nayev noted that the protection and security of the civilian population is a priority task of the Joint Forces, which are not a threat to civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and are always ready to provide the necessary assistance to citizens.
