ATO HQ reports 12 enemy attacks in Donbas, 1 KIA, several wounded in last day
Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 12 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another four as wounded, the press center of the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.
"In general, the enemy has conducted 12 shelling attacks over the past day, and, unfortunately, one Ukrainian soldier was killed, one was injured, and another one suffered a combat injury. In addition, another two Ukrainian soldiers were injured during the execution of the combat mission after stepping on an unidentified explosive device," the press center of the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation Headquarters reported on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
In the Luhansk sector, the Russian occupation forces fired grenade launchers of various types and heavy machine guns near the villages of Hladosove and Novoluhanske, and the town of Svitlodarsk.
"The shelling of the Ukrainian positions near the village of Luhanske lasted more than two hours. A mortar blast was also recorded near the village of Krymske," the report reads.
"In the Donetsk direction, enemy fire activity was recorded in the Mariupol sector. In particular, the aggressor used 120mm and 82mm mortars near the villages of Lebedynske, Shyrokyne and Vodiane. In addition, the illegal armed formations opened fire from mortars, grenade launchers and machine guns near the village of Pisky," the press center said.
