Kyiv to prepare memos on convention of racial discrimination, financing terrorism prohibition, Russia's war crimes

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has instructed to prepare documents for the International Court of Justice in The Hague concerning war crimes of the Russian Federation, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin also announced the preparation of memoranda on the convention on the prohibition of racial discrimination and the prohibition of the financing of terrorism.

According to the presidential press service, during the meeting with the president Klimkin said that in June there would be memorandums on the convention on the prohibition of racial discrimination and on the prohibition of the financing of terrorism.

"What we are doing is a complex legal attempt to punish Russia by means of law, and most importantly, Russia will not only receive punishment for violating rights, but will pay for it," the foreign minister said.

The president specified that it was not just a matter of maritime law, the elimination of racial discrimination, responsibility for financing terrorism, but he also set the task of preparing documents relating to war crimes. The relevant materials are already being collected for the preparation of the suit in the International Court of Justice.

Klimkin assured that the work would continue consistently, the Ukrainian side has a strong team that will represent it in the arbitration and the International Court of Justice.
