About 100 pieces of weapons, military equipment purchased for Ukrainian army this year - Poltorak
About a hundred pieces of weapons and military equipment have been purchased for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of this year, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has said.
"In January-February, we already received about 100 pieces of weapons and military equipment such as reconnaissance means, vehicles, etc.," he said at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense on Wednesday, February 7.
In addition, Poltorak said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received over 2,600 pieces of weapons and equipment last year.
"We bought weapons and modernized military equipment for UAH 7 billion, in accordance with the state defense order. This gave us an opportunity to supply and modernize 2,650 pieces of weapons and equipment. These are guided weapons, reconnaissance and surveillance means, missiles, artillery, and armored vehicles. In addition, this is scarce ammunition that was needed to maintain the fighting capacity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.
