Astarta sees 27.5% fall in sugar sales in Q4 2017

Sugar sales by Astarta agroindustrial holding, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, fell by 27.5% in October-December 2017 year-over-year, to 110,900 tonnes, the company has reported on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

The company said that wheat sales over the period grew by 5.7%, to 80,500 tonnes, while corn sales decreased 8.2%, to 98,600 tonnes.

Barley sales over the period declined by 52.4%, to 704 tonnes, sunflower seeds sales – by 35.7%, to 22,300 tonnes, soybean oil – by 35.3%, to 4,700 tonnes and soybean meal – by 14.9%, to 37,800 tonnes.

Astarta is a vertically integrated agro-industrial holding operating in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, and Kharkiv regions.
