Ukraine reports, 1 KIA, 2 WIA amid five enemy attacks in past day

Russia's hybrid military forces have mounted five attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another two as wounded in action (WIA), the Anti-Terrorist operation headquarters has reported.

"Over the past day, five shelling attacks on the defensive fortifications of the ATO forces by Russian-occupation troops have been recorded. Unfortunately, as a result of enemy attacks, one Ukrainian soldier was killed, two more of our defenders were injured," the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation Headquarters reported on Facebook on Thursday morning.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants opened fire on our positions near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka several times at night, using 82mm mortars and infantry fighting vehicles. In addition, they attempted to provoke the Ukrainian defenders by using small arms near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska.

Moreover, exposing the civilian population to danger, the Russian occupation forces insidiously fired on the outskirts of the village of Krymske. Three 120mm mines blew up near this front-line village. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties among civilians.

In the Donetsk sector, the invaders opened fire from small arms and heavy machine guns to attack the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Avdiyivka. In the Mariupol sector, the invaders violated the ceasefire by using small arms near the village of Pavlopil.
