PM orders Infrastructure ministry to finish laws on access to digital infrastructure

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has ordered Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan to finish legislation regarding the access to digital infrastructure, he said at a meeting with business circles and experts of the digital market in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Head of the parliamentary committee for informatization and communications Oleksandr Danchenko said that construction of the infrastructure merged with the European Union requires investment of EUR 60 billion, and Ukraine should receive EUR 5-6 billion.

"The unified position of the state is required for this," he said.

He also pointed out the importance of passing the law on the access to digital infrastructure.

"However, the Cabinet of Ministers is hindering the issue. Around 30% of bylaws have been drawn up. Without this law it is impossible to build digital infrastructure," he said.

"Now the Infrastructure Ministry is hampering the process most of all," Danchenko said answering the question of the prime minister. Groysman promised to instruct the Infrastructure Ministry to finish the document.
