Court changes measure of restraint for ex-prosecutor Sus from house arrest to bail

Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv has changed the measure of restraint for the former deputy head of the department for especially important economic cases of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO), Dmytro Sus, from house arrest with the obligation to wearing an electronic tracking bracelet to UAH 1.76 million bail, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"At the request of anti-corruption bodies the Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv changed the measure of restraint from house arrest to UAH 1.76 million bail," SAPO reported on Monday.

At the same time, the anti-corruption prosecutor's office did not specify whether the bail had already been posted.

As reported, detectives NABU under the procedural leadership of SAP prosecutors detained D.Susa on July 25, 2017 on the territory of the international airport "Borispol".

As reported, NABU detectives, under the procedural leadership of SAPO prosecutors, detained Sus on July 25 on the territory of the Boryspil Airport.

Sus is accused of the failure to declare a foreign car in his e-declaration, as well as the seizure of others' property during the conduct of investigative actions in several criminal proceedings.

On July 27, Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv put Sus under house arrest for two months, obliging him to wear an electronic tracking bracelet. The Prosecutor General's Office asked for an arrest with the possibility of UAH 5 million bail.

According to the court's ruling, Sus is under house arrest in Khmelnytsky.

According to his defense lawyer, Sus has been wearing an electronic tracking device since July 28 and has been complying with all his obligations.
