Ukraine will have enough strength to ensure that the political struggle within the country is in line with European standards, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

"We have taken into account the mistakes. We will not repeat them. I am convinced that we have the intelligence and strength to restrain relations with the authorities and the opposition within Ukraine and the borders of European standards," Poroshenko said at a solemn meeting on the occasion of the Unity Day and the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Ukrainian People's Republic in Kyiv on Monday.

According to him, this is necessary in order to prevent the enemy from undermining Ukraine from within, "so that the fifth column does not raise its head, so that the ataman state does not destroy the foundations of statehood and democracy."
