Ukrainian delegation at Global Forum on Asset Recovery, held in Washington, represented by NABU, SAPO heads, deputy prosecutor general

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly on behalf of Ukrainian delegation delivered address at the opening ceremony of the inaugural Global Forum on Asset Recovery that is taking place in Washington, D.C. from December 4 until December 6.

Ukrainian delegation includes Director of National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Artem Sytnyk, Неаd of Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnytsky, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin, Неаd of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Anton Yanchuk and representatives of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, Embassy of Ukraine to the U.S. said on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, U.K. Minister for Countering Extremism at the Home Office Baroness Williams of Trafford as well as high-level representatives of Switzerland, Tunisia, Nigeria and Sri Lanka also participated at the opening ceremony.

The Forum is co-hosted by the United States and the United Kingdom with support from the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) - a partnership between the World Bank Group and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Forum provides a platform for participants to meet with jurisdictions, financial centers, civil society, and international organizations to facilitate efforts for tracing, recovering, and returning assets stolen through corruption. The event is part of international efforts to advance asset recovery and to highlight the importance of strong political commitment, multijurisdictional coordination, and practitioner interaction to advance asset recovery investigations, the embassy said.
