Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli has said that in the past three years the EU has provided EUR 12 billion to Ukraine, including EUR 3.4 billion of marcofinancial assistance.

He said at a conference devoted to the public administration reform and its challenges in Kyiv on Tuesday that Ukraine is a country, which is on the list of priority partners of the EU. Ukraine is one of the largest neighbors of the EU which has four borders with the country, he said. Mingarelli said that Ukraine has clearly chosen Europe to move forward, so the EU is interested in success of reforms in Ukraine, he said.

Mingarelli said that the EU supports reforms in Ukraine. The EU has accumulated over $12 billion in the past three years, including EUR 3.4 billion of macrofinancial assistance, which is the largest macrofinancial assistance the EU ever provided, he said.

Mingarelli said that annually the EU provides some EUR 200 million in grants, which is more than other neighbors of Ukraine receive.

He said that the EU have not done more for any other neighbor country, and Ukraine should understand that efforts that the EU and its member states are making are biggest-ever.
