Ukraine does not intend to politicize the historical past of Ukrainian-Polish relations and will adhere to a constructive stance, spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa said.

"I would like to emphasize that there are no politicians in the pro-European politics of the Ukrainian government who have anti-Polish sentiments. Ukraine is Poland's strategic partner and this principle underlies our policy towards Poland and the Polish people. We are committed to constructive proposals and we have no intention to apply political logic to the historical events between the two countries," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman told Interfax-Ukraine news agency on a request to comment on the latest statements of Polish politicians.

Betsa also said that the Foreign Ministry would adhere to the positions expressed in a statement dated November 3.

As reported, on November 7, Poland's President Andrzej Duda expects that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman will not allow people with anti-Polish views to occupy important public posts, Polskie Radio reported.

"I expect from President Petro Poroshenko and his staff, from Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, that people who openly proclaim nationalist and anti-Polish views will not occupy important offices in Ukrainian politics," Duda said on Tuesday.

He noted that such people "do not build cooperation between our countries, they are destroying them." Therefore, there should be no such people in Ukraine's big politics, in politics, which has international significance, the Polish president said on the air of the Catholic television channels Trwam and Radio Maryja.

Duda noted that there are such people in Ukrainian politics. "It's also necessary to speak loudly that there are people in important positions in Ukraine who have almost openly anti-Polish views, this is unacceptable," Duda stressed.
