Investigators are considering all scenarios behind the murder of the head of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko's Solidarity Party faction in Severodonetsk Town Council, Serhiy Samarsky, and his political activity is a priority scenario, according to Tetiana Pohukai, head of the media liaisons department of the National Police's main office in Luhansk region.

"Several scenarios are considered, and none of them is ruled out. The scenario of the murder due to political activities is also considered... He defended the interests of citizens of the town, and this scenario is a major one," she said on the 112 Ukraine TV channel early on Friday.

In addition, according to her, the scenario related to robbery and business interests before his deputy work is also being worked out.

Pohukai also said that Samarsky's body with signs of violent death had been found at about 00.20.

Criminal proceedings were launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (premeditated murder).

Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Heorhiy Tuka, in turn, said that business and political activity were probable scenarios behind Samarsky's murder.

"I do not want to influence the investigative actions in any way. I hope that there will be enough professionals. From my point of view, it can be connected either with political activity or with business," he said on 112 Ukraine on Friday.

As reported, Samarsky was killed on November 2.
