The National Guard of Ukraine will be staffed with motivated, English-speaking contract soldiers through a network of recruitment centers operating all over the country, National Guard Commander Yuriy Allerov has said.

He recalled at a gathering with the heads of personnel agencies and officials of the recruitment departments of the image and publishing center of the National Guard of Ukraine on September 14 that recruitment centers started operating on September 1.

"Studying people who are motivated to serve, you are solving a strategic issue. The main thing is that these are people who do not just come to serve for money, but are patriots of Ukraine, patriots of the National Guard of Ukraine," Allerov said.

He noted that employees of recruitment centers included representatives of the personnel agencies, officers for work with the personnel, and military psychologists.

Allerov also advised representatives of recruitment centers to choose people who know foreign languages. In the future, this will help them participate in international operations and exercises, he added.

The centers for recruiting contract servicemen have operated in the structure of the National Guard of Ukraine since February 2016 in five cities – Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Dnipro. About a third of servicemen signed contracts for military service at the National Guard last year after passing the necessary procedures in the recruitment centers.
