Poroshenko points out importance of developing roadside infrastructure during reconstruction of roads

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has proposed to envisage support of development of roadside infrastructure and services in Ukraine's national budget for 2018.

The press service of the Ukrainian president reported on Saturday, Poroshenko during his working visit to Vinnytsia region studied the repaired Stryi-Ternopil-Kirovohrad-Znamianka section of M-12 road.

The president asked if attention was paid to the development of roadside infrastructure during the reconstruction and repair of roads, stressing the importance of developing roadside facilities.

"We need to organize tenders and auctions for the construction of filling stations, catering facilities, targeting small and medium-sized businesses," Poroshenko said.

He proposed the national budget 2018 will support small and medium-sized businesses and the development of roadside services.

"If we want roads of European quality in Ukraine, then we must have a European service," the president said.

The head of state drew attention to the state of stops on the roads and said that most of them were built in Soviet times. He proposed to develop and create a standard transport stop project that would be spread across the country.

Poroshenko also positively assessed the reconstruction and construction of roads in Vinnytsia region. "The roads of Vinnytsia are changing. People see it, like throughout Ukraine," he said.
